The 14th edition of Glass South America, the most important fair for the glass industry in Latin America, will no longer be held in 2021.
The decision was made jointly by NürnbergMesse Brasil (NMB) itself, Abravidro (exclusive partner) and the exhibitors – due to the still uncertain scenario in relation to the pace of vaccination and the context of companies from other countries.
NMB announced a new date for the show: June 29 to July 2, 2022, at the São Paulo Expo exhibition centre, in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
“The market remains heated and we are sure that we will have an environment for doing business in 2022,” said João Paulo Picolo, CEO of NMB. said João Paulo Picolo, CEO of NMB. “We are happy because we were able to find the ideal date even at a time when many events have been transferred and the calendar of exhibition centres is in great demand. It was certainly the most prudent and effective choice in the current scenario.”
The president of Abravidro, José Domingo Seixas, also spoke about the change: “Although it is not an easy choice, postponing Glass South America again is the best decision for the moment the country is experiencing. By next year, we hope that the entire population has been vaccinated, so that we can have a great exhibition without worrying about COVID-19.”
Digital version later this year
To move the market and connect customers from now on, Glass South America will have a digital version, to be held in the second half of the year, serving as preparation for the in-person meeting in 2022. More information will be announced by NMB.
