Glass has become an important element in today“s modern habitats and commercial developments and is an essential material for various high-technology products. Glasstech Asia 2011, the world renowned glass exhibition, to be held in Indonesia from 23 to 25 November 2011 at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), will have on show the latest technologies, trends, and developments of the glass industry, be presented by leading experts in the field. Specialist participation includes organizations involved in glass faades, art glass, window films, adhesives, and solar panels. The three-day event will bring together the best from over the world for a truly specialized glass event. Some 250 companies from 30 countries will take part, with established companies from China (including Shenzhen Handong, Beijing Hanjiang, North Glass, Mingte, Shunde Golive, Guangdong Fushan, Land Glass), Singapore (represented by AG Industries and Fuminn), Malaysia (represented by Vesuvius) as well as from Germany, India, Italy, the Philippines, the US, and the UK. This is the long awaited event for glass industry players and we look forward to having more exhibitors and visitors at Glasstech Asia 2011. I am sure the future of the glass industry will be very bright although there may be obstacles along the way, said Edward Liu, managing director of Conference & Exhibition Management Services (CEMS) Pte. Ltd., who is on the organizing committee of Glasstech Asia 2011. Apart from showcasing the latest products and technology of the glass industry, other highlights of Glasstech Asia 2011 will include a series of seminars, business match-making, networking reception and an awards presentation. Glasstech Asia has seen increasing numbers of exhibitors and visitors every year. In the period of 2008 and 2010, an increase of 8.57% exhibitors and 45.69% visitors were achieved, while the total number of exhibitors and visitors has increased by 11.54% and 44.7% respectively, Liu said. Glasstech Asia will mark its ninth edition in 2011, with previous editions staged in Singapore, India, Vietnam and Thailand. Being the largest market in South-east Asia and having the highest number of manufacturing plants, Indonesia is the ideal venue to host Glasstech Asia 2011. Samuel Rumbajan, Head of Indonesia Flat & Safety Glass Association, said: We welcome Glasstech Asia to Indonesia. I strongly believe that Indonesia, with the current fast-growing economy, will benefit from this glass exhibition through its highly successful glass industry. Through this exhibition, we can bring in the latest glass technologies without having to leave the country, and progress of the local glass industry will be greatly elevated. Gan Chee Siong, Chairman of the Singapore Glass Association, said, Since its inception in 1998, Glasstech Asia has paved the way for both local and international industry players to tap on abundant networking opportunities, exchange of ideas, emerging trends and the latest technologies and developments in the industry. With the support of glass associations from Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, the UK, US and Italy, Glasstech Asia 2011 is jointly organized by Conference & Exhibition Management Services (CEMS) Pte. Ltd. Singapore, the Singapore Glass Association and the Indonesia Flat & Safety Glass Association.
