Guardian expands production capabilities at Richburg plant

Guardian’s SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 glass types will now be produced at its Richburg, South Carolina plant, thus expanding manufacturing capabilities. These two low-E products offer superior solar heat gain performance while maintaining high levels of visible light transmittance.

Guardian Industries has expanded manufacturing capabilities at its Richburg, South Carolina plant with the addition of Guardian SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 and SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 heat treatable advanced architectural coated glass.
SunGuard® SuperNeutral 68 (SN) and SN 68 heat treatable are low-E products that offer superior solar heat gain performance while maintaining high levels of visible light transmittance, making them ideal for many types of commercial glass applications.
In addition to standard (96” x 130” and 102” x 144”) stock sheets, the plant has added oversize stock sheet capabilities for the heat treatable product that includes 96” x 168”, 98” x 168” and 102” x 168”. Oversize SunGuard SN 68 HT is available on 6mm, 8mm and 10mm glass.
“SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 is one of our most popular products, and being able to offer it in a heat treatable version and in large sizes allows us to better meet the needs of our customers and the architectural community,” said Chris Dolan, Guardian director of Commercial Glass Marketing. “Architects are always looking to push the design envelope creating projects using larger lites of glass, and now we can provide that option at our Richburg facility.”
