Guardian: Group chair retires

Henry Gorry of Guardian Industries officially announced his retirement during the recent GANA meeting. The meeting also discussed the possibility of creating a product category rule (PCR) for flat glass to be used in life cycle analyses, under study by Mike Turnbull of Guardian Industries.

During a meeting of GANA’s (Glass Association of North America) Flat Glass Manufacturing Division on 23 February, Henry Gorry of Guardian Industries officially announced his retirement, adding that he would be passing along his position as chair of the group to the next person in line, Chris Miller of Pilkington North America, Inc.
Gorry’s position on the GANA executive board will now be held by Kevin Olah, also of Guardian.
One of the main discussions during the Flat Glass Manufacturing Division meeting was the possibility of creating a product category rule (PCR) for flat glass to be used in life cycle analyses. Mike Turnbull of Guardian Industries, who has been researching the effort, said: “I really believe we need to proactively engage in writing our own PCR for life cycle analysis.”
