Guardian Industries debuts first-of-its-kind BIM solution at AIA

Guardian is present at the AIA Convention in Denver to present is new BIM solution, a tool that populates manufacturer data for thermal and optical performances of project specific customer IG makeups in the BIM format.

Guardian Industries is launching a first-of-its-kind BIM solution in Booth 1916 at the 2013 AIA Convention in Denver from today until 22 June.
Guardian’s new web-based BIM Generator, coming at sunguardglass.com, is the first tool that populates manufacturer data for thermal and optical performances of project specific customer IG makeups in the BIM format. Guardian representatives are available at the AIA Convention to provide demonstrations of the new tool.
A video of the BIM Generator is available on YouTube.
“We’re especially excited to put our new BIM Generator in the hands of architects, in combination with our other industry-leading tools,” said Chris Dolan, director, Commercial Glass Marketing, Guardian Industries. “By working with the Guardian Performance Calculator, and as a part of the complete online Glass Analytics suite of tools, the BIM Generator can produce project-specific custom content. It’s truly a first for building with glass.”
The BIM Generator creates highly detailed content that represents the correct thickness and colour of the inboard and outboard lites. By leveraging visibility settings, users can control the level of detail depending on the desired scale of the view. The content is created for Revit 2013 to take advantage of Revit’s material analytics for energy simulations. In addition to specific customized makeups, standard makeups will be available for download on www.SunGuardGlass.com, Autodesk Seek, and SmartBIM.
In addition to the BIM Generator, Guardian is also presenting its newest commercial glass product, SunGuard Neutral 78/65; Guardian Reveal glass that transitions from transparent clarity to serene privacy in a single click; and Guardian ClimaGuard products for residential architects.
