Guardian invites glasstec visitors to be inspired

Under its motto of “Inspirations in Glass”, Guardian Glass will present its range of advanced products and solutions to inspire new creativity in glass for external and internal residential and commercial applications at glasstec 2016 (20-23 September, Düsseldorf, Germany).

“Guardian Glass offers one of the broadest and most versatile product portfolios in the industry, both in terms of performance and aesthetics,” explains Lance Altizer, marketing director Europe at Guardian Glass. “The many properties and options available through our product range can provide the inspiration for architects and designers to create buildings with outstanding looks. This is the story of our presence at glasstec 2016.”
Visitors to the Guardian stand (Hall 10 – A28) will be able to see for themselves how Guardian high performance glass can play a significant role in creating the visual identity of many buildings, residential homes and interior spaces.
The no-glass effect of Guardian Clarity™
A particularly impressive demonstration of the range of effects achievable with glass and coating technology from Guardian will be provided by a 6-metre-high, concave façade, built specifically for the show. The four curved glass panels of the façade incorporate Guardian UltraClear™ float glass with a range of high-performance coatings that provide different degrees of visual reflection – from the no-glass effect of Guardian Clarity to the almost diamond-like appearance of Guardian SunGuard® HD Diamond 66. In architectural glazing applications where higher light transmission and lower reflection are desirable, new Guardian Clarity anti-reflective glass gives architects more freedom to create buildings that stand out.
Guardian Clarity is suitable for any application in which excessive reflection creates an obstruction – from a hotel lobby, airport lounge or sports stadium viewing area, to any residential or commercial building with stunning views.
Guardian System TEA for faster and more reliable edge enamelling
Another Guardian innovation to be presented at the show is Guardian System TEA (True Edge Application), a unique technology that reduces the time required for edge enamelling of Guardian heat treatable sputtered coated glass. Faster and more reliable than conventional methods, the technology produces a perfectly uniform surface with excellent optical qualities and is more resource-efficient, which reduces lead times for structural glazing products.
Student Design Challenge winners to be announced
Guardian will also use the occasion of glasstec 2016 to announce the winners of its student design competition, aimed at exploring the innovation potential behind new Guardian Clarity™ anti-reflective glass. Design students from around the globe were invited to conceive new and creative ideas for the use of ant-reflective glass in home interiors, the workplace and events. More information on the competition and winning entries can be found at www.guardiandesignchallenge.com.
