To meet the growing demand for window energy performance information, Guardian Industries launches Guardian Window InSight, a mobile app designed to help contractors and remodelers educate homeowners on the best options for new or replacement windows.
“Repair and replacement windows account for well over half the window market,” said Tim Clancy, product manager for residential glass for Guardian Industries. “As homeowners look to replace worn, inefficient windows, they rely on a contractor or dealer to explain the benefits of high performance glass and which package is best for their home.”
Guardian’s Window InSight app equips contractors and window dealers with tools to provide clear comparisons and answer frequently asked questions, allowing the homeowner to make more informed purchasing decisions. “Window InSight is designed for rapid access to expert information,” said Clancy. “It’s like having a glass scientist in your pocket to help explain performance and identify the window that will maximize comfort, energy efficiency and customer satisfaction.”
The mobile application is organized into three main areas; Buyer’s Guide, Toolbox and Technical Library. The Buyer’s Guide offers clear explanations of windows and glass performance, through easy-to-understand animations, relating performance metrics to real-world installations.
The Toolbox allows the user to compare relative performance of the glass package currently in the home to high performance glass packages. It also provides a video on the glass-making process to help people better understand how glass is made. The Technical Library goes one step deeper with a comprehensive glossary of terms to educate users about everything from how glass is made to how glass coatings respond to temperature.
