SunGuard EC – developed by Guardian Industries in cooperation with View, is an advanced technology glazing that helps commercial architects achieve net zero buildings.
Guardian Industries’ SunGuard EC is one of USGlass magazine’s 2012 Products of the Year. Guardian SunGuard EC, developed in cooperation with View, is an advanced technology glazing that helps commercial architects achieve net zero buildings.
SunGuard EC utilizes View electrochromic technology to transition from clear to tinted on demand, controlling heat and glare in buildings, while providing greater comfort and natural daylight. SunGuard EC enables changes in visible light transmittance and solar heat gain to significantly reduce heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) energy usage in commercial buildings, particularly during peak load times.
This product enables designers to use more glass while still meeting or exceeding building energy codes and improving occupant comfort.
“Guardian is committed to delivering advanced solutions that give architects and building owners a competitive edge,” said Chris Dolan, Guardian’s director of commercial glass marketing. “We’re grateful to the editors and readers of USGlass for recognizing the innovation behind SunGuard EC.”
