5 March 1998: Korea“s Hankuk Electric Glass, a maker of Braun tubes and glass valves for personal computers, is reportedly seeking US$ 20 million in financing from International Finance Corporation (IFC). “IFC officials visited our company in late January and completed an evaluation of our company“s growth potential,” said an official of Hankuk. If IFC decides to invest in the company, Hankuk said it plans to issue overseas convertible bonds worth US$ 20 million.
