The Polish government“s Privatisation Agency sold a 28.87% stake in window glassmaker Huta Szkla Okiennego Kara SA in Piotrkow Trybunalski to the UK-based Concord Glass for Zl 405,680. The British increased their holding to just over 30% in the move, becoming the second largest shareholder after the Industrial Development Agency ARP, which has a 54% holding. The British firm accounts for roughly 60% of the Polish firm“s export sales and first bought a holding in Kara in 1997. Remaining shareholders include Pekao Bank with a 7.68% stake, company employees and the State Treasury. Huta Szkla Okiennego Kara reported an annual turnover of Zl 40 million.
