IRIS brings inspection success for Thailand’s important energy drinks sector

IRIS Inspection machines is to supply one of Thailand’s leading energy drink producers with non-contact inspection equipment. This most recent order regards 17 Evolution camera-based inspection machines.

One of Thailand’s leading energy drink producers has placed a further order for advanced non-contact inspection equipment from IRIS Inspection machines. Via its flagship M-150 brand, the Osotspa Group accounts for more than 50% of the country’s important energy drinks market, backed up by strong sales to Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. In 2014, a survey organized by the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy at Chulalongkorn University confirmed the group’s M-150 energy drink as Thailand’s most powerful brand in the energy drink category.
Via its Siam Glass Industry subsidiary, Osotspa operates three high productivity glass container plants in Thailand to satisfy the group’s packaging needs. IRIS inspection equipment was first installed at Osotspa’s Rojana glassworks three years ago and subsequently, several machines have also been purchased for the Samutprakarn and Ayutthaya factories.
The latest equipment order involves 17 Evolution camera-based inspection machines for the Samutprakarn and Ayutthaya sites. This includes 11 Evolution 5 machines for base, base stress and finish inspection, together with six Evolution 12 machines to perform sidewall and sidewall stress inspection.
Thailand’s advanced glass container industry represents a key market for IRIS cold end inspection equipment, more than 200 machines having been sold to date to the country’s leading producers.
