Italy: Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark for the “Notte Famosissima”

Venice’s most beloved feast – the Redentore’s celebration – was made even more special this year thanks to the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark glass masterpieces on show at Palazzo Ducale.

The Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark was part of the night of the Redentore’s celebration: the Venetians’ most beloved feast, together with the oldest art of the city, Murano glass.
This year the lights created by fireworks were reflected in the glass masterpieces, used during the Gala Dinner on 14 July at Palazzo Ducale, seat of the Serenissima’s Doges.
Consortium Promovetro had on show about 30 masterpieces, chosen among vases and sculptures, in both classic and modern styles, abstract shapes and animals, to show the elegance and style of the 1,000-year-old Murano glass tradition.
“We were pleased to collaborate with Venezia Marketing Eventi for one of the most important feast in Venice, which join together the sacred and the profane, and is today, after so many centuries, an important tradition which also appeal many visitors,” said Luciano Gambaro, President of Consorzio Promovetro Murano. “At Palazzo Ducale, the cradle of Venice, we were proud to bring our history, art and culture, fundamental elements of the history of Venice.”
“All glass masterpieces were marked with the Vetro Artistico® Murano label, the only legally recognized certification, which proves the Murano origin of the piece, and is managed by the Consorzio Promovetro. Our main goal is to safeguard our 1,000-year-old tradition against those who want to ruin it with fake products and counterfeiting.”
