Kanthal: heating innovations for the glass industry at Glasstec 2016

Kanthal® will showcase its latest advances in high temperature air & gas heating and heating modules at Glasstec 2016 that are designed to bring customers’ process temperatures to new heights. The international trade fair for glass production, processing and products will be held at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, Germany (20-23 September).

Kanthal will also take the opportunity to talk with Glasstec 2016 attendees about the future possibilities its products and services can bring to the glass industry. Visitors to Booth A12 in Hall 13 can learn about the complete Kanthal range of heating technologies and resistance materials designed primarily for the generation, measurement and control of heat.
“We are very excited to make the entire Kanthal products and services offering available to the glass industry at Glasstec 2016, such as the capabilities of our gas flow heaters to achieve significantly higher operating temperatures and power density within a very compact design, while reducing safety risks,” said Stefan Schatz, Kanthal Germany.
“Materials innovation is Kanthal’s greatest strength. We have been part of thousands of advancements over the last 85 years, and the glass industry holds many more opportunities for new and cutting edge developments within the field of heating technology products and resistance materials.”
Key offerings within the company’s extensive portfolio of products and services include Kanthal’s gas flow heater technology. Equipped with an extremely compact design and very wide flow range, the flow heater is capable of higher gas outlet temperatures of up to 1200°C (2190°F) – this is a significant improvement over most conventional flow heater designs that are limited to just 800°C (1470°F) gas temperature.
Advantages for end users include easier installation, cleaner work environments and fewer safety risks compared with conventional gas burners.
Stefan Schatz said, “Across our whole range, Kanthal continually develops new products and services which evolve to exceed required standards in the glass industry. To achieve this, it is crucial we understand our customers’ challenges and requirements. Stop by our booth and tell us about your company and its products.”
“Customization is a major part of the Kanthal offering. We are able to tailor our full range of products and services specifically for the customer to best support them, reinforced with the capabilities to fully research their needs. Our standardized and tailor made solutions hold great potential for the glass industry.”
All Kanthal products and services in the area of industrial heating technology and resistance materials fit into the wider Sandvik offering.
