Glass packaging has been going through major changes in the years since the last conference in 2013.
New legislations are challenging the production of glass packaging, energy costs continue to rise – but so do expectations for individual designs and thus increased flexibility.
Summit19 – leaders explore the future of glass packaging – is a major global conference in which leaders from the glass packaging industry will explore again the themes, innovations and possibilities that lie ahead.
The future is not about the success of specific companies. It’s about working together to build a strong, sustainable industry that benefits everyone, and that’s what this event is all about.
Hotel room will be reserved at the Renaissance Tower Hotel in Zurich upon registration to the event. Once their travel information are updated participants will receive hotel confirmations with check-in and check-out dates.
Confirmed speeches are:
- Bucher Emhart Glass President, Martin Jetter, will start and end the proceedings on Day 2 with his Welcome and Closing talks. On Day 3 he will be conducting a “Message in a bottle” activity at the end of the event.

- Dr. Daniel Dettling, Founder of the Denkfabrik Institute for Future Policy, describes his presentation: “As digital transformation leads Industry and Work 4.0, ‘Generation R’ will grow up to experience robots and machines as welcome assistants, creating opportunities not threats. This talk suggests that instead of dark factories, people will be freer to focus on skilled roles within manufacturing.”
