Mark De Wit’s title in Visy, a global leader in packaging and resource recovery, is changing from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive Officer.
In announcing the change, Brian McPheely, Visy Global Chief Executive Officer, said the new title provides a more accurate description of the role Mark plays at Visy and is a reflection of the responsibilities he already holds.
“Over his almost six years with the company so far, Mark has been a calm and steady leader, providing the team with a compelling vision for growth and strengthening the Visy culture company wide. He has acted decisively and in line with the Visy values on the challenges and opportunities that have come his way, helping navigate the company through major investments, divestments, growth and operating improvements,” said Brian. “And for the past two years he has done so against the backdrop of the pandemic and some of the most volatile and challenging operating conditions we’ve experienced.”
