Milan, world capital of glass

Milan, the capital of glass: this is the aim of VITRUM and Vision Milan Glass Week, two international events promoted by GIMAV, an association part of Confindustria, which brings together Italian suppliers of machinery, accessories, equipment and special products for glass processing. To this end, for a week the city of Milan will be the focus for the international glass industry, supported by events, exhibitions, guided tours, exclusive showroom openings, workshops, meetings and much more.

On Monday September 4 at the press conference in the Sala della Balla at the Castello Sforzesco, over 100 initiatives were presented that will characterize the Vision Milan Glass Week programme and the 23rd edition of VITRUM, the most important trade fair in the glass sector, which brings together companies and operators in the processing of hollow and flat glass at Fiera Milano Rho from September 5 to 8.

The press conference was introduced by institutional greetings from the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, the Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Milan, Tommaso Sacchi, the Director of the Industrial Technology, Energy and Environment Office of the ICE Agency, Antonio Lucarelli.

Vision Milan Glass, from September 4 to 10, will aim to repeat the great success achieved by The Italian Glass Weeks, a special edition created in 2022 — proclaimed the International Year of Glass by the United Nations — which involved more than 450,000 visitors between Milan and Venice.

Likewise, VITRUM 2023 is an event that cannot be missed, where the main operators of the sector meet, exchange ideas, discuss trends and tendencies and create innovations for the “glass of the future.”
