Mir Stekla 2024: Post-show report

In 2024, once again, Mir Stekla was held simultaneously with the RosBuild 2024, exhibition for Building and Finishing Materials and Technologies within Russian Construction Week 2024, in Moscow from February 27 to March 1, at the EXPOCENTRE fairgrounds in Moscow, Russia.

Mir Stekla 2024 has shown remarkable growth in terms of space, number of exhibitors and number of visitors. The format of the Russian Construction Week with simultaneous major trade shows held on one platform allowed the exhibitions to attract more professional visitors and generate more new business contacts between manufacturers, suppliers and consumers of products of related industries.

The fair occupied 8,500 square metres, had 201 exhibitors from Russia and 9 visiting countries (Belarus, China, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Switzerland and Turkiye) with attendance of 7,775 professional visitors from 27 countries.

Show highlights
The extensive showcase of Mir Stekla 2024 presented the main trends in glazing. The first one was panoramic glazing, which is clearly visible in architecture. The second trend is safety glazing, which logically continues the previous one as the larger the area of glazing, the higher the risks of its destruction and the stricter safety requirements. The third trend is glass panels for wall coverage, stair treads and railings, canopies, all-glass partitions and the use of glass in furniture. This trend is not new, but it is clearly gaining momentum. The fourth trend is glass decoration, including equipment for glass artwork and materials for glass colouring.

Mir Stekla 2024 offered technological tours around the showcase of leading Chinese manufacturers. The tours were conducted by Glass Institute experts Stanislav Chesnokov and Svetlana Zavarina.

The conference programme of Mir Stekla 2024 opened with the Russian Glass Forum. The event was organised by the Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House and EXPOCENTRE AO.
Forum participants discussed the demands of domestic and foreign markets, the role of state regulation in supporting the glass industry, the staff composition of the industry, the use of new technologies in production from AI to 5G, and much more.

One of the key events of Russian Construction Week 2024 was the 9th Russian Meeting on the Development of Housing Construction in the Russian Federation, held as part of the “Building the Future of Russia Together” forum. Its participants were representatives of government and business.
