Oldcastle Glass(R) has acquired the Vistawall Group for a total consideration of USD 190 million to become the largest manufacturer of architectural glass and aluminum glazing systems in North America. Vistawall is a vertically-integrated manufacturer of a wide range of architectural aluminum glazing systems, including storefront systems, doors, curtain wall, operable windows, glass skylights, and translucent roof and wall systems. “The Vistawall acquisition provides scale and a national footprint with sales in all 50 states, and is the cornerstone of our growth strategy to be the market leader in engineered products used to close the building envelope”, said Ted Hathaway, CEO, Oldcastle Glass. Oldcastle Glass“s current architectural aluminum glazing systems businesses, including Southwest Aluminum Systems in Chandler, Arizona; Fulton Windows in Toronto, Canada; Texas Wall Systems in Dallas, Texas; and National Retail Systems in Austin, Texas; will be integrated with Vistawall. “Our Engineered Products division, with annual sales of more than USD 500 million, is positioned for growth from bolt-on acquisitions, investments in state-of-the-art equipment and new manufacturing locations”, said Mr. Hathaway. “Oldcastle Glass is a unique strategic partner for Vistawall and we are delighted by this acquisition. We expect to dramatically improve our efficiencies and service levels through sharing of Best Practices between our locations. Oldcastle Glass has the financial resources to invest in our growth and they have shown strong commitment to providing a safe and exciting workplace for our employees”, said Tom Harris, President of Vistawall, who will lead Oldcastle Glass“s Engineered Products division after the acquisition. Vistawall“s main manufacturing facility and headquarters are in Terrell, Texas. In addition, Vistawall has six manufacturing and engineering facilities located in Greeneville, Tennessee; Newnan, Georgia; Warwick, Rhode Island; Modesto, California; Wausau, Wisconsin; and Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania; and 19 service centers located throughout the United States.
