Osram expands operations in Singapore

Osram is opening a new office and showroom in Toa Payoh North as a base for its regional and local business operations in Singapore.

Osram is expanding its operations in Singapore, with the opening of a new office and showroom in Toa Payoh North on 27 June as a base for its regional and local business operations.
The German light-maker, which said this new space is 50% larger than its old premises, said it is committed to Singapore and Asia, and that it sees Asia leading the transition into LED lighting.
It hopes to generate half of its revenue with LED products by 2017 – up from a third at present.
Rob McKinnon, cluster chief executive officer of Osram, said: “In Singapore, we always find that it’s a very acceptable market for testing new innovation, new products and technologies.”
“We essentially want to use Singapore as our launching pad for going into the vertical market – so the target markets in the verticals are industry, commercial, shop lighting, hospitality, and so on.”
