Owens Corning Architectural Information Center; Division 7 Thermal and Moisture Protection Manufacturers Guide

Owens Corning, leading global producer of residential and commercial building materials, glass-fiber reinforcements and engineered materials for composite systems, now has an Architectural Information Center – an online portal for architects and building specifiers.

Owens Corning recently launched the Architectural Information Center, an online portal for architects and building specifiers. Available at OCBuildingSpec.com, this web-based resource centre provides commercial building industry professionals with immediate access to relevant information, including product literature and case studies, guide specifications, online American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Continued Education System (CES) training courses and more.
“Owens Corning is committed to serving as a resource to architects and specifiers, in part by delivering solutions through vehicles that are most convenient to them,” said Paul Smith, vice president of BMG Marketing at Owens Corning. “As our new resource guide, the Architectural Information Center will serve as a central hub of information, resources and training tools that may be applicable to their next project or help bolster their business.”
Visitors can now sign up for the first of a series of online training courses, “Insulating Steel Stud/Masonry Veneer Wall Systems,” by clicking on the “AIA/CES Training Courses” link under the Learning Center section of OCBuildingSpec.com. Qualifying for the AIA Continuing Education programme, this free course will provide building professionals with further understanding of the thermal contribution of “ci,” water and vapour migration estimation and management methods, information about sustainability specifications and code and fire design considerations.
The site also directs users to the industry’s first Division 7 Thermal and Moisture Protection eBook, a virtual toolkit that can be saved to a desktop or accessed from a mobile device to make retrieving information about Owens Corning commercial products more convenient. Notes can even be added and saved for future reference or emailed to colleagues or clients for review. The eBook is also launching as a downloadable app for smartphones and tablets, marking the company’s first ever app offering. The eBook is available for download now through the Android app store and will also be offered via iTunes this month.
