The 10th edition of PACRIM – the Pacific Rim Conference on Ceramics and Glass Technology – is the tenth in a series of international conferences that provide a forum for the presentations and information exchange on emerging ceramic and glass technologies.
This 10th Pacific Rim Conference on Ceramics and Glass Technology – PACRIM 10 – is designed for materials scientists, engineers, researchers and manufacturers, delivering the opportunity to share knowledge and state-of-the-art advancements in materials technology.
Those wishing to present at PACRIM 10 and GOMD 2013 now have just over a week to submit an abstract, choosing from 28 symposia that deal with emerging ceramic and glass technology topics. Abstracts must now be submitted by Wednesday 21 November.
The technical programme will generate discussion on where these fields are heading on a global scale:
* Multi-scale Modelling and Simulation
* Innovative Processing and Manufacturing
* Nanotechnology and Structural Ceramics
* Multifunctional Materials and Systems
* Ceramics for Energy and Environment
* Ceramics in Biology, Medicine, and Human Health
* Glass Science & Technology
Dynamic Plenary Speakers on Future Energy Challenges and Opportunities for Ceramics at PACRIM 10, will include Jeff Wadsworth, President and CEO of Battelle Memorial Institute; Hong-Kyu Park, Fellow of LG Chem Battery R&D, Korea; Tomoyoshi Motohiro, Toyota Central R&D, Japan; and M. K. Badrinarayan, VP & Research Director, Inorganic and Broad-based Technologies, Corning Incorporated. Over the years, PACRIM conferences have established a strong reputation for state-of-the-art presentations, information exchange on the latest emerging technologies and facilitating global dialogue and discussion with leading world experts.
This is the tenth in a series of international conferences that provide a forum for the presentations and information exchange on emerging ceramic and glass technologies. The conference series began in 1993 and was last held in 2009 in Cairns, Australia, under the organization of The Australian Ceramic Society. The Chinese Ceramic Society and the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences organized in 2007, and ACerS organized PACRIM6 in Maui, Hawaii.
In addition to a plenary session entitled “Future Energy Challenges and Opportunities for Ceramics,” the PACRIM 10 technical programme will cover a wide range of topics and identify global challenges and opportunities for various ceramic technologies. The programe will also generate important discussions on where particular fields are heading on a global scale. It also provides a very important forum for knowledge exchange and sharing, and facilitates the establishment of new contacts with peers from different continents. An International Richard M. Fulrath Symposium on the frontier of ceramic technologies for sustainable development is also planned. The Richard M. Fulrath award programme was established to promote the friendship among Japanese and US researchers and scholars.
Online registration will be available in January 2013.
