7 October 1998: Lithuania“s largest glassware company Panevezio Stiklas (Panevezys Glass) emerged with new supply contracts from two international glass industry trade fairs in Germany both in Duesseldorf and Frankfurt-am-Main, according to a recent press report. “World trade in glassware is hard to imagine without our products,” the company“s commerce director Egidijus Zukauskas said. Panevezio Stiklas supplies its products to Germany, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United States, France, Italy and other countries. Its largest market in the Commonwealth of Independence States is Kazakhstan. Panevezio Stiklas is listed for privatization in October. It will be sold to a European glass industry company (see GlassOnline report of 1/10/98). Panevezio Stiklas sold products worth 66.6 million litas over the eight months of this year, 10.9 million litas more than in the same period of 1997. The company earned a net profit of 215,000 litas in August, reducing its net loss to 1.2 million litas, the report said.
