Bidders for Pilkington Australia lodged their indicative bids at the end of the first week of May 2007, increasing the likelihood of a full sale by the end of the Australian financial year (30 June 2007). Ernst & Young has been appointed to advise the seller. The business was purchased in 2006 as part of the global takeover of Pilkington by Nippon Sheet Glass and is expected to sell for between AUD 600 million and AUD 700 million.
