UK-based autoglass manufacturer Pilkington Automotive, part of Japan“s Nippon Sheet Glass, is to temporarily lay off around 450 workers at its Yljrvi factory in Finland, according to the Esmerk Finnish News Service. The report notes that windscreen production at the plant has cut by around a fifth on the back of a 20% fall in orders. Ninety-seven percent of the windscreens produced at the plant are exported. Pilkington Glass supplies almost all the major OEMs.
