Pilkington Suncoolâ„¢ 70/35 for solar control

U values for thermal transmittance of windows have been decreased

According to a recent Italian Government Decree, U values for thermal transmittance of windows have been decreased, introducing the global transmission factor of solar energy g gl+sh.

The Italian Government Decree dated 26 June 2015 has further reduced U values for thermal transmittance of windows and introduced the global transmission factor of solar energy g gl+sh.
The main condition requested for window frames to enable them grant thermal transmittance and solar control set by the new Decree is the adoption of selective glazing with low emissivity and solar control coatings.
Pilkington Suncoolâ„¢ is a range of magnetron selective glass that optimally meets the requirements of the new legislation, allowing to limit solar heat gain inside buildings in any situation, and environmental exposure, and location.
Pilkington Suncoolâ„¢ 70/35 is the most performing of the range both for light transmission level as well as for solar factor, reaching a Ug value of 1.0 W / m2K.
Installed in face # 2 in a traditional double glazing unit, it achieves a solar factor of 37%, thus satisfying the requirements of the Decree, taking into consideration the global transmission factor of solar energy ggl + sh. When this glass is installed in triple glazing with low-emissivity glass (face # 5) Pilkington Optithermâ„¢ range, the solar factor drops to 34%, while in simple double glazing with Pilkington K Glassâ„¢ N face # 4 results in a solar factor of 35% and Ug 0,9 W/m2K.
The Pilkington Spectrum program, available at http://spectrum.pilkington.com allows to find the best Pilkington products suitable for each application. It is a free tool, available upon registration.
