After two years of closure, Pittsburgh Glass Works has announced that it will be restarting its facility in Evart, Michigan, expected to generate 50-60 jobs. The plant will make tempered side windows for the auto industry, with production to begin before the end of the third quarter. Pittsburgh Glass Works closed the Evart plant in January 2009 because of excess capacity, eliminating 120 jobs. Pittsburgh Glass Works supplies windshields, rear and side windows, sunroofs and assemblies to the auto industry.
