The Poltava Factory engaged in the production of medical glasses has brought a new manufacturing line to facilitate the production of ampoules. French company Modern Mehanic manufactured the new line facility, Valentyna Martynova, deputy commercial director at the factory said. She did not disclose the cost of the equipment. In the words of the deputy director, with the help of this new line, the factory plans to extend production of a new type of ampoules with ring (for fast breaking of the ampoule without cutting) and enter new markets, specifically in India. “This line will permit us to receive additionally UAH 3 million monthly,” Martynova said. At present, the factory exports 17% of its wares to Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Georgia and Belarus. Ukrainian Chemical and Pharmaceutical factory (most of all, the Firm Darnytsia and the Company Farmak) market the rest of the factory“s products. The 2001year ended with the factory gaining a net profit of UAH 8.185 million. The Poltava factory produces glass model USP-1 of the first dimming class, glass wires and wares made from it: ampoules for medical injections, pair and vacuum fillings; bottles for antibiotics and insulin; measuring utensils for the laboratory. Besides the Poltava Medical Glass Factory, the Zhytomyr and Lviv Medical Glass Factories produce similar ampoules and bottles in Ukraine. Yearly output capacity for the Poltava Medical Glass Factory consists of 1 billion pieces of ampoule.
