PPG Industries has announced that Thomas P. (Tom) Kerr has been appointed vice president, fiberglass, within the company“s Glass segment. Kerr will report to J. Rich Alexander, executive vice president, Performance Coatings, effective immediately. Kerr was, most recently, director, strategic operations, fiberglass. In 1991, he joined PPG“s former automotive glass business as director of quality, and became plant manager at the former Crestline, Ohio, automotive glass plant in 1993. Kerr transferred to Paris in 1996 to become director of production for automotive OEM glass in Europe, and returned to the US in March 1998 to become general manager, automotive OEM products, followed by, in August 2002, director, production, flat glass. He was named director, strategic operations, fiberglass, in 2005.
