Rajasthan Industrial and Investment Corporation (RIICO) is planning to set up a Ceramic and Glass Industrial Zone at Ghiloth near Neemrana.
Veenu Gupta, Managing Director of RIICO, said “RIICO has planned this zone in the Delhi NCR so that the entrepreneurs of this zone can have easy access not only to the raw material sources nearby but also to the large consumer base of North India close to their plants.”
Moreover, she said “the fact that this area is close to the Inland Container Depot of CONCOR on the Dedicated Freight Corridor linking Mumbai to Delhi, provides easy and fast freight access from this area to the consumption hubs of Gujarat and Maharashtra as well as to major parts of exports.
RIICO is now undertaking pro-active steps in initiating a dialogue with market leaders of ceramic and glass sector regarding the raw material, gas availability and skill resources of Rajasthan.
Spread over an area of 750 acre, this zone would have gas availability through dedicated supply by the GAIL, experts from which shall also be present at the meet to assure investors of their support.
Special incentives are being offered to the ceramic and glass sector by way of investment subsidies. A transparent mechanism for offering customised packages to large industries was announced in the RIPS 2014 and the same is expected to be a major attraction for potential Investors.
RIICO would share details of these incentives to probable investors at the meet. RIICO is already undertaking Skill Development courses for ceramic and glass sector through Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI) so as to provide trained manpower for the sector within the state.
The efforts of RIICO towards this thrust sector are expected to bear fruit in the near future and are setting the foundations for giant strides of Rajasthan in the sector.
