PQ Corporation, a manufacturer of inorganic specialty chemicals and engineered glass materials, has completed its merger with INEOS Silicas Limited, a manufacturer of silicates, zeolites and silicas. The result of the merger is a producer of specialty inorganic chemicals, catalysts and engineered glass products. In the announcement of the planned merger on 11 October 2007, it was stated that The Carlyle Group, the parent company of PQ Corporation, would own an approximate 60% share while INEOS, the parent company of INEOS Silicas, would hold approximately 40% of the new combined company. City of London-based legal firm Slaughter and May acted as advisor to INEOS.
