23 October 1997: The Austrian refractory materials maker Radex Heraklith Industriebeteiligungs-AG (RHI) said on 9 October that it had increased its shareholding in the German firm Didier Werke AG to more than 75%. The company referred to a statement released on 27 August in which it said that Veitsch-Radex AG, a 100% subsidiary of RHI, would further increase its involvement in Didier in order to accelerate the integration of the world“s two leading refractory companies Veitsch-Radex and Didier. Veitsch-Radex AG planned to propose to the shareholders of Didier Werke AG to agree to the conclusion of a control agreement between Didier Werke AG and Veitsch-Radex AG at an extraordinary general meeting on 17 October.
