Saint-Gobain – The longest glass bridge in the world

Saint-Gobain is in the running for the Guinness Book of World Records: Its glazing solutions on Bach Long bridge located in the highlands of North Vietnam could make it the longest glass bridge in the world

Suspended 500 feet above the ground, the Bach Long Bridge (white dragon in Vietnamese) deploys 250 Saint-Gobain glass panels over the 2,073.5 foot-long bridge. Located near the city of Moc Chau, Vietnam, the project, which began its construction in 2020, is in the running to join the Guinness Book of Records as the longest glass bridge in the world.

But the true feat of Bach Long is not its span but its strength. High definition glass SGG Diamant manufactured at the World Glass Complex in Sriperumbudur, India, is tempered and reinforced. Incorporated into a laminated unit comprised of multiple layers of SentryGuard Plus (SGP) vinyl, which are used especially in hurricane and cyclone-prone areas, the glass has immense strength. An anti-slip ceramic-printing treatment is applied to each panel so that any who is brave enough to cross the dizzying bridge can do so in total safety.

The opening to the public took place on April 30, 2022, Reunification Day, a holiday in Vietnam. Today, up to 500 people can use the strong and beautiful bridge.
