German building glass manufacturer Vegla GmbH, part of France“s Saint-Gobain, said it expects a significant rise in business due to the recovery of the construction sector. Vegla saw turnover of DM 500 million in 1999 and transferred profits of DM 40 million to its parent company. Vegla“s subsidiary in eastern Germany generated revenue of DM 1 billion. Vegla employs 5,156 people in Aachen and Torgau.
