Satinal: Architects and designers choose STRATO® COLOUR.

Many architects and designers are revolutionizing glass architecture by selecting coloured interlayers in order to project creative solutions, like suggestive plays of lights and colours, and special atmospheres.

STRATO® COLOUR by Satinal is the innovative range of 100 percent Made in Italy transparent coloured EVA interlayers for high-end applications, designed to offer new aesthetic design solutions and create modern and elegant laminated glass.

The STRATO® COLOUR range brings with it a series of application advantages: it can be used, for example, both indoors and outdoors, in safety glass, curved glass and in the field of acoustic insulation. Indeed, STRATO® COLOUR range guarantees colour uniformity, protection from UV rays, colour stability.

Moreover, this product is unique also because EVA (Vinyl Acetate) is not a hygroscopic material, therefore it is more resistant to humidity than PVB (Polyvinyl butyral film) which suffers from a high degree of absorption of water vapour. In fact, PVB is, compared to EVA, much more sensitive to humidity and more exposed to problems such as water infiltration in the corners of laminated glass, risking delamination. As a consequence, although PVB has been the reference material for glass lamination in the building and transport industry for many years, EVA has been gaining ground in recent years due to its properties.

Then, the economic aspect must also be kept in mind.
The incomparable results that can be obtained from EVA products rather than from PVB add up to the processing costs of the latter. Processing with PVB film requires a special temperature chamber controlled and the glass must then be processed in an autoclave, an expensive and large machine suitable for companies with large volumes.

Satinal SpA has been the very first EVA production site in Italy and guarantees high standards required by a very high-quality product.

The application of the EVA film is a delicate process that requires great precision for the temperatures and cycle times applied. The quality controls, which are carried out in the Satinal R&D laboratory, aim to guarantee perfect adhesion of the material to the glass surface. The experience acquired in the treatment of EVA-based materials is essential to master their potential and fully exploit their characteristics.
