The independent Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a group of international organizations committed to the climate and the environment. Its aim is to support and accredit companies’ CO2 reduction targets, in line with the Paris Agreement’s ambition to limit global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius.
At the end of 2022, the SBTi certified Saverglass‘ CO2 roadmap, in line with a trajectory below 2 degrees Celsius. By 2035, the company plans to reduce the emissivity of its scope 1 and 2 industrial processes by 50 percent, and by 32 percent for scope 3. This SBTi approval confirms the quality and seriousness of Saverglass’ decarbonization plan for the coming years.
“SBTi certification marks a further step towards our ambitious goal of reducing our carbon footprint by 50 percent by 2035,” said Frédériquie Dupuis, Director of Research and Sustainable Development at Saverglass.
Saverglass is working on multiple fronts to decrease CO2 emissions and to reduce its energy consumption to combat climate change.
