Schott appoints new chairman

The new chairman of the board of directors of Schott AG as of 1 June will be Frank Heinricht, who is currently chairman of the board of management for Germany-based Heraeus Holding GmbH.

The supervisory board of Schott AG has appointed Frank Heinricht as new chairman of the board of management.
Heinricht currently is chairman of the board of management for Germany-based Heraeus Holding GmbH, a precious metal and technology company. He holds a degree in physics and a doctorate in engineering from the Technical University of Berlin and began his professional career at TEMIC Semiconductors. After holding positions as general manager and chair of the integrated circuits division, he was appointed chief executive officer of TEMIC Semiconductor Group in 1998. In 2003, Heinricht joined Heraeus as a member of the board of management and was appointed chairman of the board and labour director in 2008.
“We are pleased that we were able to recruit Dr. Heinricht, an outstanding manager, as the new chairman of the board of management,” says Dieter Kurz, chair of the supervisory board of Schott. “His experience in managing a company with a complex portfolio makes him ideally suited to lead Schott. He looks back on a proven track record in expanding the market presence of a global company, particularly in Asia. We are confident that the necessary reorientation at Schott is in excellent hands with him.”
Heinricht will take office on 1 June.
