SEFPRO celebrates the Day of Affordable and Clean Energy

On January 26, SEFPRO celebrated the Day of Affordable and Clean Energy, whose aim is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

SEFPRO’s ongoing commitment is to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon energy system and many projects have already been implemented in their plants around the world. This evolves the use of renewable and locally sourced energy to power their furnaces. For example, as part of daily efforts, SEFPRO is progressively substituting conventional fuels like LPG or NG with clean energy sources for the kilns in their sintered plants. Notably, the company is currently conducting trials involving the use of green electricity.

The Palakkad plant of SEPR India goes a step further by actively collaborating with civil society on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects. An exemplary illustration of this commitment is the installation of solar panels on the Kanjikode school roof top, showcasing the company’s dedication to sustainable initiatives.

These commitments mark significant progress on SEFPRO’s decarbonization roadmap, reflecting the dedication of the company to fostering a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy approach.
