Czech Republic drinking glass manufacturer Sklarna Hermanova Hut (SHH) has announced will not revive its manufacturing by the end of 2009 as it had originally planned. This means that there will be no beer glass manufacturing in the Czech Republic. SHH stopped manufacturing in summer 2009 because of the rapid decrease in demand. The company expects its 2009 proceeds to be about 50% of those in 2008. Prior to the stop in manufacturing, SHH produced 1.5 glasses per month, and employed 84 people. German glassworks Sahm, which is the owner of SHH, said it plans to keep the company established 102 years ago.
