SSRC boosts production leadership

Special Shapes Refractory has added John Neufeld as Vice President of Operations and Engineering at its headquarters, who brings decades of experience in furnace design and operation.

Special Shapes Refractory Co., Inc., the leading provider of world class refractory products to furnace operators around the globe, announced that it has added John Neufeld as Vice President of Operations and Engineering at the company’s Bessemer, AL headquarters.
“We continue to experience tremendous demand for our pre-cast shaped products and refractory solutions for furnaces, especially in the soda lime container glass, wool insulation fiber glass, e-glass (structural), and secondary aluminium melting,” said President, Luke Evans. “This is an exciting time for our company, and our clients will be well served by John’s experience, skill set, and intellect. He is a tremendous addition to our team.”
Neufeld is a graduate of California State University, Fresno, with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, with a focus in Manufacturing. In addition to his formal education, he brings decades of experience in furnace design and operation to Special Shapes, having served in a number of roles at Gallo Glass Co., most recently serving as Senior Manager of the Furnace and Batch Departments. John is a member of the American Society of Ceramic engineers, an Alumni of the LeTourneau University Automotive Society, and has served in several trustee positions for California entities.
