Steinemann Technology AG (St. Gallen, Switzerland), acquired Fleischle Siebdruckmaschinen eKfm (Brackenheim, Germany), with effect from 30 September 2008. The step simultaneously marked the establishment of the new Steinemann Coating Division. “Fleischle has an excellent reputation around the globe as a leading manufacturer of innovative precision machines for screen printing on large-format glass materials. The company“s comprehensive expertise and trendsetting high-end technologies ideally complement the portfolio of our Graphic Division and give us access to attractive growth potentials in extremely promising future markets. We are delighted to welcome the staff of Fleischle to our Group and look forward to sharing continuing success in the future”, said Christof Strm, CEO of Steinemann Technology AG, on signing the agreement. Founded in 1977 by Rudolf Fleischle with the unfailing support of his wife Liesl Fleischle, the Fleischle Siebdruckmaschinen company today has a staff of 20 and markets a comprehensive range of high-end screen printing machines that are used by well-known customers throughout the world, primarily for printing large-format glass materials for automotive, architectural and solar applications. One of the largest customers is Oerlikon AG, (Pfffikon, Switzerland), whose Solar business unit is the world“s leading supplier of cost-efficient high-performance production solutions for solar modules. Fleischle Siebdruckmaschinen is the home of numerous trendsetting innovations that have set standards in the screen printing market; the company celebrated the world premiere of an innovative, patented method and device for producing colour information on glass by laser at the Fleischle stand at glasstec 2008 in Dsseldorf, Germany, from 21-25 October. “Not least in the interests of our staff, I am delighted that Steinemann will be continuing my life“s work. The company instantly recognised the fascinating potentials existing in the markets we serve with our technologies – such as the production of electricity in glass panels. Consequently, Steinemann was our partner of choice”, said Rudolf Fleischle, welcoming the acquisition of his business by the Swiss technology manufacturer. Mr. Fleischle will stay with the newly founded Steinemann Coating GmbH company for a further year before officially retiring at the age of 66, although he will continue to support Steinemann in an advisory capacity after that time. There are plans to significantly expand production capacities in the short term, since the market has already announced that numerous machine orders will be coming in the near future. Contact between Steinemann and Fleischle was established through M&A Consultants AG, (Mannheim, Germany), which assists Steinemann in its efforts to further expand its global market position.
