Stevanato Group has strengthened its leadership in the market with the purchase of 100% of Optrel, a company situated in Vicenza, Italy, which specialize in the manufacturing of inspection machines for the pharmaceutical industry. The addition of the asset will further enhance the group“s Engineering Division. The use of Optrel technology ultimately strengthens the position of OMPI as a world leader in the production of high quality glass delivery systems for the pharmaceutical Industry. “The Optrel purchase” said Sergio Stevanato, CEO of the group, “is part of the development project of the Group, initiated with the strengthening of the Glass division through the acquisition of Alfamatic and Medical Glass, and in perspective of the development of the Engineering division, in total synergy with the SPAMI product line”. “The Group intends to widen our product line to offer systems for the automated control of dimensional and cosmetic aspects of glass containers used by the Pharmaceutical Industry. These new systems, which will be effective on both empty glass containers as well as those filled with final product, will be available to Pharmaceutical companies and glass container producers”. The Stevanato Group is a global leader in primary packaging for pharmaceutical use. The purchase of Optrel confirms the firm“s commitment to strengthening its position in the world market by providing first class production capabilities.
