Stevanato Group: race to produce glass vials for the coronavirus vaccine

Producing enough pharmaceutical glass vials to deliver coronavirus vaccine around the world is critical for a successful global response. 

Governments and pharmaceutical companies around the world are ordering hundreds of millions of dollars and pushing the glass primary packaging producers to ramp up their manufacturing capacity. 

Stevanato Group, a global medical glass primary packaging producer based in Italy, and other global manufacturers have estimated that worldwide demand will increase by 1 billion to 2 billion of new glass vials that are able to contain multiple vaccine doses, over the next two years. 

Within this scenario, Stevanato Group is increasing its manufacturing capacity globally, securing the supply of glass containers to ensure their availability when the first mass vaccination will be finalized.
