Bormioli Luigi used the Emhart Glass Research Center (EGRC) facility in Connecticut, USA, to carry out a very successful two container trial over a number of days on the new AIS M section at the centre to prove its capabilities.
The trial also allowed the Bormioli Luigi team to have hands on experience under glass before receiving the AIS M sections without the normal production pressures present in every glass plant. The flexibility to run the machine, make changes and stop and start at no loss to production has obvious benefits.
The containers saw a substantial speed increase when running on the AIS M section, some of which was due to the glass condition at the centre but gave a solid indication of capabilities of the equipment and the improved speed that will be inevitable when running production, back in the Bormioli Luigi plants, using AIS M sections.
