Thiele Glas featured in Jewish History museum

The design aim for the Jewish Museum Berlin was to create a center of information and education which invites lingering and private study.

An extension was added to the existing museum of German-Jewish history and culture, around the original Eric F. Ross building. An annex was added according to the scheme ‘Interspaces’ by Daniel Libeskind.
Three inclined cubes covered with wood in the entrance and interir area (library and auditorium) add to a breathtaking atmosphere. They symbolize legacies from all over the world, which are kept in the academy and are accessible to the public. The interspaces also represent a connection to a former flower wholesale market.
There are also open access libraries including reading room and archive, a  class room, various seminar rooms, the garden of the diaspora, an oasis of calm in the centre of the building, as well as the education department and a department for academy programs.
Besides the glass for the entrance area, Thiele Glas also provided partitions between library and archive. 285 square meters glass were installed, including sound insulation glass TG-THERM®phon as well as thermal insulation glass TG-THERM®plus, consisting of TG-ESG®-H and TG-PROTECT®-TVG.
