The US Justice Department has cleared Toppan Printing Co. Ltd. to acquire rival DuPont Photomasks Inc., according to documents filed in the week commencing 18 April 2005 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. In 2004, Toppan agreed to buy DuPont Photomasks of Round Rock, Texas in a USD 650 million deal. Toppan would pay USD 27 per share to acquire all the outstanding shares of DuPont Photomasks, so creating the world“s largest photomask supply company.
