Through its new Envirosealed WindowsTM Advantage programme, Truseal Technologies, Inc. is making it easier than ever for window producers to manufacture energy-efficient windows that exceed today“s, and even tomorrow“s, efficiency standards. Truseal“s Envirosealed Windows Advantage programme gives manufacturers choices among pre-certified packages that exceed ENERGY STAR 2010 and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 30/30 tax credit requirements, as well as packages that exceed future standards proposed for 2016. Through the programme, producers are able to economically create windows with ratings as high as R-6 (0.17 U-value), which is 50 percent better than ENERGY STAR 2010 criteria. The Envirosealed Windows Advantage programme ensures high energy efficiency based on the combination of three primary window components: the spacer, the glass and the frame. Windows rated as Envirosealed Windows Advantage feature Duralite spacers by Truseal, one of several premium glass options from the EnviroliteTM glass pack programme, and EnergyCoreTM frames by Mikron. Truseal has pre-certified multiple window designs using combinations of these components in conjunction with optional argon gas filling, giving manufacturers peace of mind that windows will pass current ENERGY STAR criteria. By themselves, each component – the spacer, the glass and the frame – adds efficiency to any window. But when these thermally-efficient components are combined, they make Envirosealed Windows Advantage the most efficient on the market, said Gus Coppola, president of Truseal. By packaging these three components together, Truseal is able take the burden of certification away from manufacturers, giving them more resources to focus on window sales, which we also support through the Envirosealed Windows Advantage marketing programme. Truseal“s Duralite spacers have the lowest thermal conductivity of any warm edge spacer available. The no-metal spacer system uses a polycarbonate structure in place of conductive metal components to help prevent the transfer of heat. Duralite provides the lowest U-value rating and warmest edge of glass temperature with the best condensation resistance of any spacer system. The new Envirolite programme is the first of its kind, offering optimized combinations of triple- or double-pane glass, low-E coatings and argon gas filling. The pre-selected combinations are already modelled to help manufacturers achieve U-value targets without wasting resources on unnecessary modelling. Envirolite offers a range of U-value results as low as 0.17 (R-6) with the flexibility to choose from a variety of glass options. EnergyCore by Mikron is a new, patent pending insulated frame system that delivers superior thermal performance. Frame components are tri-extruded with a unique, integral air cell insulated core designed to create a superior thermal barrier to save energy costs. The frame material is 100 percent recyclable. Envirosealed Windows Advantage prepares the industry to meet current and future demands of the growing green consumer movement by offering very efficient windows, said Ric Jackson, director of marketing and business development for Truseal. Ultimately, we want to make it easier for our customers to help homeowners save money on heating and cooling costs and reduce CO2 production at the same time. Envirosealed Windows Advantage is an extension of Truseal“s Envirosealed WindowsTM programme, which simplifies environmental and energy savings messaging for window manufacturers and dealers. Programme participants can address the growing demand for green products through consumer-ready educational tools.
