Turkey exported ceramic, glass and cement products worth USD 1.1 billion (EUR 898 million) in the first eight months of 2004, up 24.8% year-on-year, figures from the Turkish Central Anatolia Exporter Unions (OAIB) showed on 10 September 2004. The country exported ceramic, glass and cement products to 164 countries. Sixty percent of exports went to the United Sates and the EU, including the UK, Germany, Italy, and France. Glass sector exports grew 22.4% to USD 351.4 million (EUR 286.9 million), with the largest portion made up of household glassware exports worth USD 194 million (EUR 158.4 million).
