Clayton Glass of Stanley, County Durham, in north east England is under new ownership. The company, which makes glass units for window and conservatory companies, has been purchased from the Heywood Williams Group by Ryan Green. The former finance director of Barnsley-based Cestrum Conservatories, Green is looking to achieve turnover of over GBP 10 million and increase output by half at Clayton Glass. The company currently produces 10,000 units a week and has a turnover of GBP 7 million a year. Mr Green said: “The business has great potential for growth, and the capacity of this state-of-the-art facility means that we can grow turnover by around 50%.” “We intend to use the excellent reputation for quality and service that the company already has to grow market share, as well as accelerate the launch of new products developed here.” The management team of Dave Richardson, Jason McCabe and Richard Teesdale will remain in place. The company employs 126 staff.
