Submissions are invited from artists of all abilities aged 16 or over, who live, work or study in the area. Artworks in all media, which must be original pieces created in the last two years: glass, sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, video and other digital media are accepted. Categories include Portrait/The Figure, Landscape, Still Life, Digital, Abstract, Year of the Environment 2009. Ten artists from this exhibition will also be selected to represent St. Helens in the Best of Merseyside Exhibition in Liverpool in 2010. Over recent years the St. Helens Open Art Exhibition has grown in popularity with artists and the public alike, serving as an impressive reflection of the enthusiasm for visual arts being produced and appreciated within the area.
