The Ukraine“s production of cast, rolled, blown or drawn, sheet or profiled glass fell by 20.9% in November 2005 compared with November 2004, to 0.6 million square meters according to the State Statistics Committee. In November 2005, production of these types of glass was down by 2.8% compared with October 2005, while for the period January-November 2005, production fell by 2% compared with January-November 2004, to 8.1 million square meters. In 2004, output increased by 18.3% compared with 2003, to 9 million square meters. Cast, rolled, blown or drawn glass is characterized by relatively low surface quality and considerable optical distortion. Such types of glass are used to glaze facilities where optical distortion is not important (e.g. depots, greenhouses) or for the decoration of buildings.
